Dogs Of War

The club meets every second Sunday at Armageddon Games, 79 Magellan Street, Lismore NSW 2480

So how did the club come about?
Lismore Dogs of War was first established in September 2003 by Malcolm Clark and Tony Methven. Tony had placed a flyer at the Lismore Toy World and Hobby Centre, with a view to establishing a miniature modelling and war gaming club based around the more traditional ancients (Roman to WWII) 25mm gaming models. Malcolm, however, had been playing the Warhammer based gaming system since 1984 and the two decided to join forces, so to speak, and establish a club that would cater for any war gaming system that interested club members wished to play. In July and August of 2002, a flyer was established taking in names and phone numbers of potential club members. Although there was the will to establish a club, there remained 3 things left to resolve,

1) where to play,
2) what to play on and
3) insurance to protect committee members from legal action from accidental injury.

Originally the club was set-up at the Goonellabah Table Tennis Centre; however in 2004 the club relocated to the Aramgeddon Games Shop. The move was voted on by club members to increase membership & to capture the synergy in locating in a store that's core business included Games Workshop products.

The move required the club to set-up a new constitution this was adopted by club members on the 17th October, 2004. The Lismore Dogs of War was once again open for battle. During the meeting a a committee was elected (Chair, Secretary/Treasure, Senior Member, Junior Member and three additional members), and a Code of Conduct for members was established.
